Residency Training in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology - The Department of Pathology, College of Veterinary Medicine , The University of Georgia has an opening for residency training in anatomic pathology. This intensive, comprehensive training program is 3 years in duration. Upon successful completion, the program is designed to culminate in eligibility for the certifying examination of the American College of Veterinary Pathology.
Residency training is accomplished by a diverse faculty, 13 who are ACVP-certified, and includes avian, aquatic, and laboratory animal pathologists. Training includes extensive necropsy experience in conjunction with the Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and surgical biopsy service to the teaching hospital; these activities are augmented by seminars and formal course work, as well as, teaching assignments in the professional curriculum.
Applicants must possess a DVM or equivalent degree and must be United States citizens or lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence. Applications submitted by December 1, 2007 are assured consideration for a position beginning July 1, 2008.
