Residency Training in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology - The Department of Pathology, College of Veterinary Medicine , The University of Georgia has an opening for residency training in anatomic pathology. This intensive, comprehensive training program is 3 years in duration. Upon successful completion, the program is designed to culminate in eligibility for the certifying examination of the American College of Veterinary Pathology.
Residency training is accomplished by a diverse faculty, including 16 ACVP diplomates, with expertise in domestic, avian, aquatic, exotic, wildlife, toxicologic and laboratory animal pathology. Training includes extensive necropsy experience in conjunction with the Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and surgical biopsy service to the teaching hospital; these activities are augmented by seminars and formal course work, as well as, teaching assignments in the professional curriculum.
Applicants must possess a DVM or equivalent degree and must be United States citizens or lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence. Applications submitted by December 1, 2009 are assured consideration for a position beginning July 1, 2010.
