« Q: When trying to install the old distributed version of Noah's Arkive, I am getting version conflict and error alerts. What do I do?
A: This answer is presented in two parts:
Part I
During setup, you may be prompted that a file being installed is older than the one on your computer. This is known as a "Version Conflict". If this happens, always select "Yes" to keep the newer file.
Example Version Conflict dialog box
Part II
If you get an error message saying that there is a problem installing or registering a particular file, select "Ignore" to proceed with the installation. (Several of the files are specific for a particular version of the Windows operating system and will be irrelevant to your system.)
Example Registration Error dialog box.
Note that if you select "Abort", the entire installation process will undo itself resulting in no software being installed.
