Noah's Arkive
Contributing to Noah's Arkive
Noah's Arkive is a valuable resource for creating teaching materials and preparing for the pathology boards. Help us make it better!
Noah's Arkive is a collection of approximately 30,000 images contributed by veterinarians from around the world. It is truly a worldwide community effort! We are always interested in new image contributions to the archive from you and your colleagues, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this project.
« How to Contribute
We request new digital images (gross images, micrographs including cytology, histology, immunohistochemistry, and electron microscopy) to enhance the quality of the new version and to illustrate new diseases. We also welcome scanned Kodachrome images.
Micrograph images (cytology and histology) should be taken at several magnifications for proper orientation and detail of cellular aspects.
The images should meet standard requirements such as:
- Correct light exposure
- Sharp focus
- Uniform, evenly colored, clean background for gross images
- The lesion or area of interest in the center of the image
- No artifacts such as blood, autolysis, or folds for photomicrographs
- Kodachromes should be dusted and dirt and fingerprints removed prior to scanning
Digital images and digitalized Kodachromes should be very high resolution TIFF or JPEG files. Numbers will vary with the particular camera used, but resolution of 300 pixels/inch, and image size of at least 1500 pixels, both width and height, are acceptable parameters. If there is any question regarding the photograph parameters, please feel free to contact Raquel Rech (keka_rrr@yahoo.com.br).
Please download and catalog each image on the Noah's Arkive Submission Form. We would appreciate it if you would fill in the form electronically and include the form with your images on a CD. You will also need to download the Noah's Arkive Agrreement Form and submit with your images, either on the CD with the images or hardcopy.
Images and submission form should be submitted on CD along with a signed agreement form to the following address:
