NOTE: Although Noah's Arkive is now in Edition 9, some components are called "Noah8".
Noah Viewer v. 8.11 is available on CD and incorporates many of the suggestions from collegues using the previous version. The Viewer software is supplied at no charge with subset orders. Please read the Instruction File (see below) for additional information.
If you just need the most recent Viewer program, the installation CD an be ordered separately. There is no charge for the program itself, but there is a $5.00 shipping and handling fee.
Not sure which version you have? Use “My Computer” or Explorer to locate and open the folder “C:\Program Files\Noah’s Arkive” (if you used the installation naming suggestions). If you have a file named “Noah811.exe”, you have the latest version Viewer.
How Noah’s Arkive “works”… The Noah Viewer is a program, “Noah811.exe”, that connects an image with the corresponding descriptive information and displays both on your computer screen. The descriptive information is contained in a database named “Noah8.mdb”. The installation CD (1) installs the Viewer program and (2) automatically copies a database file to your hard drive. The subset images are supplied on CD.

If you have Noah Viewer v. 8.11, you may only need the most recent database.

If you have not entered any notes into the "Comments" field of the database you have been using you may download and save the most recent database, then copy the downloaded database to your Noah's Arkive folder in C:\Program Files overwriting the older version.

If you have entered data into the "Comments" field or are hesitant to overwrite a file, first rename your Noah8.mdb file to something like "oldNoah8.mdb".
