Q: How do I contact technical support?

A:   You can email pathweb@uga.edu or call 706-542-5849 (10 am to 3:00 pm Eastern Time, Monday and Wednesday. Also before noon on Friday).

Q:  How may I use the Noah's Arkive images?

A:   The images are for educational, nonprofit use in face to face instruction, or for use in the preparation of audio-visual materials which will be used on your campus only. Duplication is authorized for use on your campus only. These materials may not be used in any publication without the written consent of the original producer and the International Veterinary Pathology Slide Bank (Noah's Arkive).

Q:  Is NOAH'S ARKIVE available on CD?

A:   YES! The images have been digitized from the original slides and are available as subsets on CDs: Clinical Pathology, Canine, Feline, Equine, Porcine, Ruminant, and WHEAL (Wildlife, Human, Exotic Animals, Avian, and Laboratory Animal) are now available. Please see Ordering Information>> for prices and an order form.

Q: What is required to run the NOAH'S ARKIVE CD subsets?

A: The Noah Viewer software with a searchable database has been successfully installed and tested under the following Microsoft operating systems: Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

Noah Viewer, the user interface, is independent and does not require separate database software.

Images may be displayed on most types of "multimedia" computers with CD drive and SVGA graphics. Intel Pentium processor of at least 200 Mhz with Microsoft Windows is recommended.

Apple/McIntosh computers may be utilized to open files in JPG, TXT, and PDF formats; however, the Noah Viewer and searchable database are not supported at this time.

Q:  Are future editions of Noah's Arkive being planned?

A:  Edition 9 has been released as of February 2008. Updated versions of Noah Veiwer will be released periodically and available for download in the update section. If you would like to be notified by email of these updates please email pathweb@uga.edu with your email address.

Clinical Pathology, Canine, Feline, Equine, Porcine, Ruminant, and WHEAL (Wildlife, Human, Exotic Animals, Avian, and Laboratory Animal) Subsets are available now. Please see Ordering Information >> for prices and an order form.

Please see How Can I Contribute Images >> if you are interested.

Q: What about DVD?

A: The latest updates have been released on DVD's.

Q:  What about new Laser Disk editions?

A: Due to the extreme expense of producing a 12" LVD and the obsolescence of the technology, there will be no future versions in LVD.

Q: I am getting an error message when I try to browse the images, how can I fix it?

A:   If the error looks the one below, simply copy and paste the bold text: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\dao350.dll" into the run box. The run box is located by going to the start menu and clicking on "Run..." If you are still having issues please email pathweb@uga.edu for further assistance.
