Noah's Arkive Home> Search Tips > Operators

Text searches use the LIKE and Equal to (=) operators.

LIKE implies the search criteria will contain characters other than those given and so a wild card character * (asterisk) must be used. For example,

Search Field: Organ
Operator: LIKE
*INTESTINE*

will locate records for INTESTINE, INTESTINE-APPENDIX, INTESTINE-CECUM, INTESTINE-COLON, and INTESTINE-SMALL

Equal to (=) will find exact matches.

Search Field: Organ
Operator: =
INTESTINE

will find records which only contain INTESTINE as the organ designation. It will not find INTESTINE-APPENDIX or the others.
