The Clinical Pathology Laboratory at The University of Georgia offers a wide variety of clinical testing for The University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, and both in-house and contract researchers.
Comparative Pathology Laboratory
The Comparative Pathology Laboratory at The University of Georgia is a full-service laboratory providing services in the area of laboratory animal pathology and research pathology. These services are available to researchers regardless of affiliation (academic, governmental, or commercial). Interested individuals are encouraged to contact us to discuss their research needs.
Electron Microscopy Laboratory
The Electron Microscopy Laboratory is a full-service facility administered as a service laboratory through the Department of Pathology available to investigators throughout the University of Georgia System, and provides select services to the veterinary and medical professions.
The Histology Laboratory is a full lab serving biomedical investigators and diagnosticians at The University of Georgia. Special services such as immunohistochemical staining, special staining, and large sample processing are available upon request.
Laboratory Animal Diagnostic Services
Diagnostic and disease surveillance services for various laboratory animals are available through the Georgia Laboratory Animal Diagnostic Service (GLADS).
The Department of Pathology provides biopsy and necropsy diagnostic services to the clinical departments within the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine and necropsy service to clients within the state of Georgia. We also provide diagnostic mail-in necropsy service for veterinarians and veterinary clinics outside the state of Georgia.

Out-of-State Mail-in Services
The University of Georgia Department of Pathology’s Mail-in Services are available to all veterinarians outside the State of Georgia.
