Welcome to Veterinary Pathology!

Veterinary pathology is the study of the nature, causes, and effects of animal disease. The Department of Pathology at The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine is dedicated to the study, diagnosis and control of animal disease through our veterinary student curriculum, residency and graduate training programs, ongoing research, and quality diagnostic services.

Prospective students should visit Programs of Study for information about our residency, externship, and graduate programs (MS and PhD) in veterinary pathology.

- All of this year’s class of residents passed the American College of Veterinary Pathology board certification examination in anatomic pathology: Susan Knowles, Sasmita Mishra, Leo Susta, Karelma Frontera Acevedo, and Daniel Rissi.
- Kudos to Dr. Janildo Reis (former resident, now professor at University of Brasilia) and Tamas Nagy (Assistant Professor, Dept of Pathology, UGA, for passing the ACVP anatomic pathology board exams.
[July 09, 2011] Dr. Bala Manickam won the young investigator award at the ASTP.
[June 30, 2011] Dr. Jaroslava Halper's article in Veterinary Pathology was the most downloaded article from 2009-2010.
