No, not kangaroos, but actually koalas can get respiratory disease from Chlamydia pneumoniae, along with horses and even humans. Indeed, this is the first report of a poikilotherm like a frog, which depends on the ambient temperature for its own temperature regulation, and a self-regulating homeotherm like a mammal to both get infected by the same species of Chlamydia.
