Be sure to save a set of tissues in formalin and also save tissues in whirlpak bags or tubes for culture/virus isolation/fluorescent antibody testing.

You can never save too much tissue.  Diagnostic laboratory personnel will never ever ridicule someone for sending in too many samples or too much tissue.  It can always be discarded at the lab.  Sometimes the diagnosis cannot be made for lack of adequate samples, but never the reverse!

For this disease, the very best tissue for diagnosis is....LIVER. In addition, it is a good idea to take serum samples from as many rabbits as possible.
