How about the following questions?
  • What was the order in which the rabbits got sick?
  • When did they all arrive in the building?
  • Where were the rabbits from?
  • Where are the owners from
Okay, after you have asked these questions of a number of people and finished your interviews, here is what you piece together:
  • The rabbits have come from all over the state.  The sick and dead rabbits are not clustered from any particular geographic area.
  • Initially, one rabbit became ill and dead, about three days after arriving in the building.
  • Two days later, a number of rabbits got sick and died.
  • All the rabbits were brought into the building the same day.
  • All the dead rabbits were in contiguous cages, except for one healthy rabbit in the middle.  You focus on that rabbit.

Anything unusual about it?  Any recent trips?

No, the rabbit has just been in its hutch out behind the house. It was off feed for a while about a month ago, but that was just because it got really excited.  You see, it was a little lonely while its main caretaker, the junior high student who takes care of it (and exhibits it) went to Australia to visit his aunt.  When he came back, the poor rabbit was so excited that it just forgot to eat for a few days.  But it's okay now.
