Bovine herpes mammillitis:  
Bovine herpes mammillitis is caused by a member of the subfamily Alphaherpesvirinae, family Herpesviridae, and is characterized by ulcerative crusting lesions on the teats. The morbidity of this disease may approach 100% although mortality is rare. Diagnosis is made by isolation of the virus or observation of typical herpetic inclusions in histologic sections of biopsy material. bhmteats.jpg (17923 bytes)
