Your very quick thinking and notification of the proper authorities allowed for a very rapid diagnosis of the problem.  Effective quarantine and control measures were instituted immediately, and the virus was halted in its tracks.   Because only one premise was infected, the Office of International Epizootics, the international reporting agency for animal diseases, declared this a regional problem.   International trade in horses was interrupted for the western United States only and only temporarily.  You are a hero and the American Horse Council gives you a big award!
