Urinary obstruction and inability to urinate

Endoscopic Technique
Cystoscopy to examine urethra and bladder, following perineal urethrostomy.

Benefits of using endoscopy
Examination of the bladder with a scope identified bladder problems as only the typical bladder wall injury in response to prolonged bladder distention.  Because a bladder stone was suspected, endoscopy avoided an abdominal surgery to open the bladder.
