2005 Endoscopic Surgery Courses
(University of Georgia with Karl Storz Veterinary Endoscopy Collaboration):

  • February 25 (Friday):
    Introductory Arthroscopy (day 1: am lect, pm cadaver shoulders, elbow, stifles)


  • February 26 (Saturday morning only):
    Introductory Arthroscopy (day 2: am anesthetized dog shoulders, elbow, stifles)


  • February 26 (Saturday):
    Basic Soft Tissue Rigid Endoscopy (day 1: am lectures and pm lab on anesthetized dogs for examination of the ear, nose, and bladder)


  • February 27 (Sunday):
    Basic Soft Tissue Rigid Endoscopy (day 2: am lectures and pm lab on diagnostic laparotomy and gastropexy in anesthetized dogs)


  • June 11 & 12 (Saturday & Sunday):
    Basic Exotic Endoscpy


  • June 24 (Friday):
    Basic Soft Tissue Rigid Endoscopy (day 1: am lectures and pm lab on anesthetized dogs for examination of the ear, nose, and bladder)


  • June 25 (Saturday):
    Basic Soft Tissue Rigid Endoscopy (day 2: am lectures and pm lab on diagnostic laparotomy and gastropexy in anesthetized dogs)


  • June 26 (Sunday):
    Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery (2 hours AM lectures and late AM and PM lab on biopsies, gastropexy, cystoscopic calculi and gastric foreign body removal, jejunal biopsy, enterostomy tube placement, ovariohysterectomy, pericardectomy, lung biopsies, lymph node biopsies, etc)

  • August 21 (Sunday):
    This course is designed to teach veterinarians and licensed researchers, (biologists, zoologists, ecologists) the theory and practical applications of diagnostic endoscopy in fish, including endoscopy and biopsy of the gastro-intestinal tract, respiratory system, and coelom.  Veterinarians will be trained using PowerPoint lectures and video presentations.  In addition, there will be over 5 hours of practical lab time to practice and develop endosocpy skills in anesthetized (non-recovery) farmed fish.  Refreshments, lunch, and printed course notes containing all tutorial materials will be provided.

  • October 1 (Saturday):

  • October 2 (Sunday):
    Basic Soft Tissue Rigid Endoscopy (day 2: am lectures and pm lab on diagnostic laparotomy and gastropexy in anesthetized dogs)


  • November 5 & 6 (Saturday & Sunday):
    Basic Exotic Endoscpy


  • December 9 (Friday):
