Terminal Equipment

Terminal equipment includes nearly every type of instrumentation used for traditional surgeries, i.e. scissors, forceps, needle holders. These have been modified to go through the trocars and are usually 5 or 10 mm in diameter. The long shafts of terminal equipment and the laparoscope means that the operative site can be remote from the trocar sites.
