Camera

A camera provides continuous, real-time images of the surgical site. These can be single chip, or the more advanced are three chips for better color balance. Three chips include one for each color (red, green, and blue). The resolution is continually improving with the preferred being 600 to 700 lines of resolution. Traditionally, cameras were analog, but more modern have digital capability that permit recording of digital images. Digital images are preferred when recording for later presentation and publications.
