Peter

Peter
  • Patient:
Peter, 2 year old male neutered domestic short hair cat.

  • Presenting complaint:
Urinary obstruction and inability to urinate.

  • Endoscopic technique:
Cystoscopy to examine urethra and bladder, following perineal urethrostomy.

  • Benefits of using endoscopy:
Examination of the bladder with a scope identified bladder problems as only the typical bladder wall injury in response to prolonged bladder distention. Because a bladder stone was suspected, endoscopy avoided an abdominal surgery to open the bladder.
