Bosso

Bosso
  • Patient:
Bosso, 1 year old male German shepherd.

  • Presenting complaint:
The left testicle is undescended and the client requested both castration and a prophylactic gastropexy.

  • Diagnostic studies before endoscopy:
Physical examination and blood tests were within normal limits.

  • Endoscopic procedure:
Laparoscopic assisted castration of the left testicle and gastropexy was performed. These techniques required three small incisions, one for the scope, one for removal of the retained testicle, and the third for the gastropexy. The descended right testicle was removed by traditional pre-scrotal incision.

  • Benefits of using endoscopy:
Both procedures are minimally invasive and proceed more quickly than traditional surgeries.
