The Hospital Today

Since its beginnings more than 50 years ago, the College of Veterinary Medicine has risen to national and international prominence. Its graduates are in great demand and many have become leaders in their profession.

Much of the credit goes to the students' clinical training in the UGA veterinary hospital. It has continued to offer them ever greater opportunities to use sophisticated equipment and provide the most up-to-date specialized treatment.

In the last 50 years, the number of cases we see in the hospital has grown exponentially. Today, we treat an estimated 20,000 animals a year -horses, dogs, cats, birds, cattle, sheep, and pigs, among others.
