Few laboratories can rival the Georgia Veterinary Diagnostic Labs in Athens and Tifton for affordable, quality service. Courteous and knowledgeable receptionists answer every call. Board-certified pathologists, tumor diagnosticians and infectious disease experts are available for consultation both before and after you send your samples.

Easy Shipping!

You can overnight ship samples to the Diagnostic Laboratories at discounted rates:

  1. Request UPS shipping labels from our laboratory
  2. Place your samples in a box with the UPS label, and call UPS for a free pickup

Online Reports

View all your reports online — anywhere, anytime. Both preliminary and final reports are available, and can easily be downloaded or printed. View your account, pay your bills, and manage your account easily and quickly. Call our receptionist to set up your online account, or register online by clicking on the Client Login area to the right.

Affordable quality services

All of our tests, complete with information about turnaround time, submission guidelines, and all associated fees, can be found under the Fee Schedule drop-down menu. Simply choose one of our two laboratories. If you need help finding a test, give us a call and we'll be glad to help you find it.

Equine Practitioners: Digital Coggins Service

Provide more efficient and improved client service with our digital Coggins service through GlobalVetLink and VSPS. This services provides an easy-to-use online system, with digital images.

The GlobalVetLink Coggins AGID test is only $8. Start saving time today! If you are new to GlobalVetLink, contact 515.296.0861 to set up your account. Existing GlobalVetLink clients can simply start submitting! We also accept VSPS Coggins submissions (no extra charge above the $7 standard fee) for practitioners with level 2 USDA website access. Visit the USDA VSPS website to set up a free account.

Necropsies

We are the only local laboratories offering complete necropsy of large, small and exotic animals. Our necropsy fee includes most ancillary testing such as histopathology, cultures, and fluorescent antibody tests. Preliminary results are available right after the necropsy.

Our laboratories are units of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, and are funded in part through a contract with the Georgia Department of Agriculture. Both laboratories are accredited by the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD) using ISO 17025/OIE-based standards.

We also are members of the National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN). Our quality system and our multidisciplinary organization provide the capabilities necessary for the detection of most animal diseases and interpretation of the associated test results.
