Federal Work-Study
The University of Georgia offers a Federal Work-Study program. If you are interested in hiring a FWS student, you may at no cost to your department.
If you decide you want a FWS student, the steps are as follows:
1. A job description form will need to be filled out and turned into Cherie Wall in the Business Office.
2. The position will be posted on DawgTrack with your contact information. Students who are interested will contact you for an interview and resume.
3. When you hire a student, you must complete an Employee Tracking Form (ETF) and turn it in to Cherie Wall in the Business Office.
4. The student will need to complete online orientation [within the human resources Web page] and you need to submit the necessary paperwork to Payroll and Human Resources.
Please note the following:
Students can begin work 10 days before the first day of classes.
The last day a student can work for a semester is the last day of finals.
Students are only allowed to work Fall and Spring semesters.
Returning students also will need to fill out an ETF form and turn it into the Business Office.

Payroll Deadlines for FY2007 and 2008
Timesheets and vouchers are due to the Business office on Thursdays by 9 a.m. on the following dates:

Vouchers will be distributed to departments the day before payroll is due.
Personnel forms should be turned in at least 5 days before payroll is due.

Vehicle Rental
In order to rent one of the College vehicles, you must be an employee. No students are allowed to drive a vehicle. You must be able to provide an account to pay for the rental cost. Call 706.542.5289 to schedule a vehicle rental.
Vehicle options are:
Truck
12 passenger van
Station wagon (5 seats)
Cost:
$0.40 per mile
Plus $15.00 per day
Please print the vehicle rental form [PDF] to turn into the Business Office. You may fill out the form online before printing.
If we do not have a vehicle available to rent, you may contact the Motor Pool to see if they have one available. (www.busfin.uga.edu/auto/)
Vet Med ID card
How to get your Vet Med ID card:
Come to the Business Office (room 239) to pick up the required pink form to take to the Tate Center Card Office. If you would like a badge reel and plastic cover, you may purchase them for $2 at the business office. We can accept Cash or Check only!
Next, take the form to the Tate Center to have your picture taken and ID made. You will pay $15 at the Tate Center for your ID card (after July 1, 2007, ID cards will be $20 each). You may drive and park in the pay lot next to the Tate Center, or you can take the North/South bus that runs by the Tate Center.
Finally, wait at least 24 hours and return to the Business Office to have the correct access added to your card. It will not work until its activated.
Please Note: If you have lost or broken your ID card and need a new one, you will have to go through these same steps.
Visitor's Card
If you are going to have a visitor here for a month or more, the visitor will need to purchase a visitor's card from the Tate Center.
A Visitor's Request form should be filled out and sent to the Tate center card office at least 5 days prior to the visitor going to get their card.
The visitor will need to come by the Business office first for the required pink form to take to the Tate Center Card Office. (The individual will be responsible for paying the cost of the card, $15, at the Tate Center).
After at least 24 hours, return to the Business Office with the ID card to have the correct access added to the visitor's card.
