Community Liaison Committee

The mission of this committee is to establish and maintain trust and confidence among the scientists associated with the Animal Health Research Center, the University of Georgia community, and the citizens of Athens-Clarke County.

Scope

The Community Liaison Committee was established to provide an ongoing venue for discussion and sharing of information among the University community, the citizens of Athens-Clarke County, and the senior administration of the College of Veterinary Medicine's Animal Health Research Center.

Objectives

  • To proactively seek and provide information to the community in order to foster a greater understanding of the activities of the research center including its mission, policies, procedures, benefits, and risks.
  • To provide ongoing community input and sustained information exchange between the community and the AHRC senior administration.
  • To monitor and address concerns of public safety in regard to the operations of the research center.
