Admissions Information

• UGA CVM requires the GRE General Test. We no longer require applicants to take the GRE Biology Subject Test.
July 31, 2011: In order to meet the GRE deadline of October 3, 2011, all applicants must take the current version of the GRE by this date. The revised GRE will not be included in this year's application cycle.

06. Which standardized tests are required?

  • Take the Graduate Record Exam with the Analytical Writing portion.
  • Tests must be taken in time for the official results to be received (not postmarked) by the College by October 3 (effective immediately) of the year of the October 1 application deadline.
  • The Analytical Writing test will be required.
  • Effective for the 2011-2012 application cycle: The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine no longer requires applicants to take the GRE Biology Subject Test.
  • Applicants who have previously applied through VMCAS must have their scores resubmitted to the College by the Educational Testing Service (ETS).

Required standardized tests

  • Have the Educational Testing Service send your GRE scores directly to the College of Veterinary Medicine (institutional code 5752).
  • The oldest acceptable test scores are scores from October 2005.
  • If you take the GRE more than once, the highest scores you achieved will be considered.
