Welcome Class of 2011

White Coat Ceremony

Sunday, August 12, 2007

The White Coat Ceremony is a tradition at the College of Veterinary Medicine.  The officers and representatives from the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association host this event.  They will be present to welcome you to the profession.  Each student’s name will be called, and you will be asked to come to the front of the room, receive your white lab coat from the GVMA representatives, and have your picture taken.  Your family and guests are invited to this event as well.  Professional attire (shirt and tie and slacks for men, dress or blouse and slacks for women) is appropriate.  Please remember to wear your name tag.

The ceremony will be held at the College of Veterinary Medicine with a reception, beverages and deserts, from 12:30 pm until 1:15 pm and the ceremony starting at 1:30 pm on August 12th.

If you are unable to attend this event, please inform the Office for Academic Affairs no later than 12:00 pm on Friday, August 10, 2007.  (It would be embarrassing for you and the College if your name is called and you are not present.)
