Our
five doctor, AAHA-accredited, companion animal practice is looking to
add a sixth associate to our team! Our new Veterinarian will have the
opportunity to help us achieve our goal of ‘helping our clients’ pet
ownership more enjoyable through better health and understanding.’ We
achieve this by offering excellent care and client services in each of
our four locations.
Our main hospital is located in Pembroke, Ontario. Pembroke is home
to roughly 14,000 citizens and is the largest commercial centre between
North Bay and Ottawa. We’ve got a small town feel with a health economy
supported by industry, trade goods and a strong relationship with the
United States. In fact, New York City with all of its cultural and big
city amenities is close enough for a weekend get away! Pembroke is also
a gateway to natural adventures, especially water sports, due to its
location on the Petawawa and Ottawa Rivers.
In addition to our five doctors, our Pembroke location has:
- A Hospital Administrator
- Three RVTs
- Several veterinary assistants
Our veterinarians have the opportunity to provide the following services:
- Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:
Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care
for your pets' complete health care needs.
- Surgical Services:
Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.
- Anesthesia:
We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide that extra
margin of safety, especially for our older or high risk patients. Using
the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored
during all anesthetic procedures.
- Radiology Services:
Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders.
- Electrocardiography Services:
We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.
- Laboratory:Our in-house laboratory facilities provide
for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite
testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for
specialized diagnostics and consultations.
- Pharmacy:We maintain a complete inventory of
pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos and heart worm preventatives to
meet the needs of your pet. Prescriptions are written to human
pharmacies for some controlled drugs and some rarely used drugs.
- Dentistry:
Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and oral surgery.
- Individualized Flea Control Programs:We develop
programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular
environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to
control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.
- Dietary Counseling:We will provide guidance regarding
your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary
requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
- Behavioral Counseling:We can provide advice regarding
the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing,
spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
- Boarding:We provide pet boarding as a service to our
clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff.
Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours
Monday through Sunday.
- Bathing:
Routine and therapeutic bathing services are available.
- Chiropractic Care:Chiropractic evaluations and
treatment are available by appointment only. Our visiting specialist,
Dr. Alison Seely, provides all our pet chiropractic treatments.
- On Site Pet Cremation:Pet cremation services are
available at all locations. The cremations are performed at our
Pembroke Animal Hospital location. The ashes of cremated pet are
usually available within 24 hours.
We are looking for a candidate that:
- Has a great attitude

- Possesses excellent client communication skills
- Is willing to share an on-call schedule
- Interest in partnership is a plus, but NOT necessary
The right candidate will be rewarded with:
- Starting salary of $66,000 for a new graduate with a profit sharing opportunity after six months
