  • A. To develop an understanding of basic conservation/wildlife biology and an appreciation of the major factors impacting free-ranging wildlife populations B. To develop an understanding of how animal and human diseases relate to the conservation of free-ranging wildlife populations C. To understand the veterinarian’s role in conservation/wildife biology

  • I. Conservation/Wildlife Biology A. The conservation infrastructure. Who is responsible for wildlife? B. Working at the population/ecosystem level C. A multidisciplinary approach to wildlife conservation II. Disease and the conservation of free-ranging wildlife populations A. Determining impacts of disease on free-ranging wildlife populations B. Determining the cause of wildlife disease problems C. Population medicine. What are the options? E. The domestic animal, human, and wildlife health interface F. Current and emerging issues in wildlife conservation
