Vet School for a Day
Sponsored by the David Forehand Foundation
The 5th Annual Vet School for a Day was held on Wednesday, September 23, 2009. The date for the next Vet School for a Day is still TBA. Thank you for visiting us!
What is Vet School for a Day?
Through this program, we hope to educate students and guidance counselors about the many career opportunities within the field of veterinary medicine. We invite you and your students to participate in this exciting event. Registration for Vet School for a Day 2009 is now closed.
Our typical program includes a tour of the Teaching Hospital, a meeting with faculty from different areas of interest in our profession, and an informal discussion with current veterinary students. Weather permitting, you and your students will have lunch on our front lawn with veterinary students and faculty. After lunch, one of our distinguished alumni often speaks about his or her career.
Space for this popular program is limited, and we take an appropriate representation of students from each congressional district in Georgia. Please nominate students who are especially interested in veterinary medicine or animal health. We also require that all students (or groups) be accompanied by an adult chaperone – a parent, counselor, or teacher.
There is no cost for students, but to offset the cost of food there is a fee for each chaperone (parent, counselor, and/or teacher), payable on the day of the event. Vet School for a Day is proudly sponsored by the David Forehand Foundation, based in Atlanta.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Lakecia Pettway at 706.542.8411. We look forward to having you and/or your student(s) on our campus.
