Department head: Dr. Scott A. Brown.

Our mission is supported by 32 faculty members, approximately 30 interns and residents, and numerous technical staff. The department is divided into three sections: in-patient medicine, out-patient medicine and surgery. Their respective Chiefs of Staff are: Dr. Cynthia Ward for in-patient medicine, Dr. Nicole Northrup for out-patient medicine, and Dr. Spencer Johnston for surgery.

The intern training program is supervised by Dr. Kate Creevy; however, the interns are employees of the Teaching Hospital. Those technical staff not funded by sponsored research programs of individual faculty are supervised by Ms. Lynn Reece. The administrative staff are supervised by Ms. Fran Cantrell.
