ITS - Changes Over Time

The application of information technology to meet needs in the College began with small pockets of enterprising faculty and staff that required point solutions to specific problems in their area of expertise.

The needs these pioneering souls sought to address were and continue to be great - managing finances in the Fiscal office, collecting test result and client information in the laboratories and hospital, or designing new, stimulating teaching tools to energize and educate our students to name a few.

As technologies matured networks were born and solutions became more far reaching in their impact. Integration of business processes and the sheer scale and reach of the College called for the formation of a team of professionals dedicated to managing the development, maintenance, and evolution of these solutions.

Formerly known as the Computer Support Group, the Information Technology Services (ITS) organization begins to take shape as a free standing entity tied to serving the mission of the College while coordinating with the University as a whole.
