Research Opportunities
Undergraduate
- Through the Honors program at the University of Georgia, and the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities (CURO), we seek to promote opportunities for undergraduates to engage in virology, immunology, nanotechnology, and microbiology research using state-of-the-art facilities. CURO operates on the premise that it is possible for both young students and faculty members to cooperatively engage in the creation of knowledge, and in concordance, our laboratory considers students as partners in a learning community.
- Franklin Pierce College Advantage Program: Provides an opportunity for up to three undergraduate honors students from Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, NH to work in a field related to their career goals in biology, microbiology, virology or immunology in our laboratory. Students entering their senior year at Franklin Pierce College will be eligible to apply for an 8 - 10 week internship opportunity. In select cases, as determined by the faculty and administration at Franklin Pierce College in coordination with Dr. Tripp at UGA, students on a BS degree tract will be invited to perform an internship that will be applied to meet senior thesis requirements.
- Work-Study: A limited number of students will be considered for work-study opportunities in the laboratory during the summer months. Those interested are invited to contact Dr. Tripp for additional information.
Graduate
- Technician and Post-Doctoral Fellows: A limited number of technical and post-doctoral positions may arise throughout the year. Interested personnel are encouraged to visit the UGA Human Resources website. Post-doctoral fellow applicants are also encouraged to contact Dr. Tripp directly.
