Location: Home > Positions > Immunology Position Announcement: Immunologist Tenure Track The Department of Infectious Diseases, College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor position in immunology. Applicants must have a PhD, DVM or MD, post-doctoral experience and evidence of research accomplishments. Of special interest are investigators with research programs in the immunology of infectious diseases, vaccine development or related areas. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a nationally recognized and externally funded research program and contribute to teaching in the professional and graduate curricula. The College of Veterinary Medicine offers a highly innovative and rigorous research environment including animal biocontainment and research facilities in the Animal Health Research Center. Interactions are encouraged with other world-class organizations located at the University of Georgia including the Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases, and the The Center for Disease Intervention. Selected Departments, Centers and Institutes Department of Infectious Diseases (College of Veterinary Medicine) programs in microbial pathogenesis, molecular biology of microbial and parasitic pathogens, and the mechanisms of immunity. Department of Cellular Biology housing faculty with interests in immunology, infectious diseases, developmental biology and cell biology. The Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases Home to 19 faculty with broad research interests primarily in diseases caused by parasitic agents. Accounting for >$20 million in research funds, the CTEGD also administers 3 training programs through an NIH training grant in Molecular Parasitology, a Fogarty training grant with the FIOCRUZ in Brazil, and an Ellison Medical Foundation grant for scientific exchange.
