Annual Open House — Friday, April 6, 2012
Our Open House, held annually in late March or early April, demonstrates the exciting and rewarding aspects of a career in veterinary medicine. There will be many demonstrations and tours showing the diverse career choices from which graduates in veterinary medicine may choose.
Guided tours of the College and Teaching Hospital facilities will be available throughout the day. These tours will feature both the large and small animal teaching hospitals.
Interesting exhibits will focus on topics such as the life of a veterinary student, computers in veterinary medicine, animal behavior, equine reproduction, herd health and others.
Admission to the Open House is FREE and the public is invited. Please pass along this information to individuals or groups in your community or school who might be interested in learning more about the rapidly changing and scientifically challenging world of veterinary medicine.

Our typical activities include:
- Maps and information available all day in the Main Lobby
- Concessions (hamburgers, hot dogs, soda, chips) and bake sale — in front and back of College
- Teddy Bear Surgery — Building 10 (the Anatomy Lab)
- Hospital tours — line begins at Large Animal Hospital breezeway
- Live animal displays — in front of College
- Exotic animal displays — H237
- Anatomy display — Building 10 (the Anatomy Lab)
- Medical Booths — cardiology, endoscopy, dentistry, radiology and ultrasound, hip dysplasia, parasitology and more! — Large Animal Hospital
- "Reading to Dogs" program
- Club and business displays — Vet Med Reading Room
